Earth Hour on March 28, 2009---The Lights Go Off in Kaneohe for More Than One Hour

Little quiet Kaneohe town on the island of Oahu, the Windward side of the island.
I was surprised when looking out from my mom's balcony
that most of the nearby homes had turned off their
lights in recognition of Earth Hour---
Saturday, March 28, 2009
from 8:30pm to 9:30pm
worldwide.

Many of the lights seen are the street lights. And many homes
had only one light on, if that. And this continued
beyond the 8:30pm thru 9:30pm
time frame.

We kept one light on but eventually turned it off as we sat in darkness
and watched the new James Bond DVD movie
"Quantum of Solace".
That's still "green" right?

last year matt and I played games by candlelight, but this year we decided to take a walk. I really like this new tradition of Earth Hour :)

How sad is it that here on the Mainland I didn't even know about Earth Hour?!

I love Kaneohe, and it is wonderful how you have documented the evening. It reminds me of Christmas last year when our electricity went out, but made for still a wonderful fireside evening.

And yes! I'm quite excited to be returning back to the island, or Maui to be exact. However, you know I'll be hitting up Curry House and lunch at the Academy of Arts on your isle!

Curry House! That's my secret fav spot. I always get the Spicy Mabo Tofu Curry with Small amount of rice. Yummy! This is making me hungry.

I took all my silver smithing jewelry classes from Linekona which is a part of Art Academy. Sorry to say that I haven't had lunch there. Something to try out next time. :)
