Living the Greek Life at the Honolulu Greek Festival

The Honolulu Greek Festival
at Ala Moana Beach Park's
McCoy Pavilion

Jimmy and I headed down to the McCoy Pavilion at Ala Moana Beach Park to check out the festivities and eat some Greek food. Yummy! Too bad they ran out of food around 6:30pmish. But lucky us, we were able to get a plate to eat.

Yummy Spanakopita...flaky outside and tasty inside

Wow, aren't those buildings gorgeous in the background?
Like a roomful of mirrors against the blue and pink sky.

Inside McCoy Pavilion, the Greek band was playing and the people
were dancing...Ooompah!

While we waited for the traffic leaving the park to die down,
we sat on the wall and admired the beauty of
the Waikiki city lights

Earth Hour on March 28, 2009---The Lights Go Off in Kaneohe for More Than One Hour

Little quiet Kaneohe town on the island of Oahu, the Windward side of the island.
I was surprised when looking out from my mom's balcony
that most of the nearby homes had turned off their
lights in recognition of Earth Hour---
Saturday, March 28, 2009
from 8:30pm to 9:30pm
worldwide.

Many of the lights seen are the street lights. And many homes
had only one light on, if that. And this continued
beyond the 8:30pm thru 9:30pm
time frame.

We kept one light on but eventually turned it off as we sat in darkness
and watched the new James Bond DVD movie
"Quantum of Solace".
That's still "green" right?

Wanted to share a view of the fireworks at Aloha Tower on January 1st 2009 midnite. This is a view from our awesome hotel room at the Hilton room 2926...the corner room! What a perfect way to spend the new year with my hubbie.
